The present invention relates to the use of type I IFN for the preparation of pharmaceutical composition, in particular vaccine, which include it in a dosage greater or equal to 100.000 U/ml, per dose of vaccine, and to the compositions and in particular vaccine prepared thereby. The present invention further relates to a kit of parts including, type I IFN and a vaccine including an antigen for separate, simultaneous or sequential use in the prevention or treatment of a disease associated with the presence of said antigen.
