MULTI-COLOR IMAGE FORMING MATERIAL AND METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-color image forming material with an extended range of reproducible hue and good color reproducibility, and a multi-color image forming method.

SOLUTION: The multi-color image forming material uses an image receiving sheet with an image receiving layer and at least four kinds of thermal transfer sheets each with a photothermal conversion layer and an image forming layer, faces each other and laminates the image forming layer of each of the thermal transfer sheets and the image receiving layer of the image receiving sheet, irradiates them with a laser light, and transfers a region irradiated with the laser light of the image forming layer onto the image receiving layer of the image receiving sheet to record the image. The hue of the image forming layer contains either of thermal transfer sheet (X) of red, blue, green, orange, pink, brown, purple, white or gray expressed by elements L*, a*and b*of a specified L*a*b*color model, and the thickness of the image forming layer of each of the thermal transfer sheets is 0.01-5 μm.
