<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve display regardless of the state of a display when signals arrive in a video telephone. <P>SOLUTION: A communication device comprises a detection circuit 24 for detecting a call signal when the call signal is transmitted from one's party; and a detector circuit 24 for a control signal for controlling a display 30. When the detector circuit 24 detects a call signal, a specific control signal is formed by the detector circuit 24 and is outputted to the display 30.
