<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating device capable of efficiently washing a die head and a circulation passage for a coating liquid, reducing an amount of the washing liquid used and contributing to cost reduction. <P>SOLUTION: The coating device is provided with a manifold for spreading the coating liquid in a width direction of a support; a slit communicated with the manifold and forming a uniform coating liquid film in a predetermined coating width; the die head having a coating liquid feed port communicated with the manifold and feeding the coating liquid; a coating liquid feed means for feeding the coating liquid to the die head; and a washing liquid feed means for feeding the washing liquid to the die head.
