FOUR-COLUMN TYPE PRESSURE SWING ADSORPTION APPARATUS FOR HYDROGEN PURIFICATION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a four-column type pressure swing adsorption apparatus for hydrogen purification by which, when reduction in the purity of product hydrogen is caused on normal operation, the reduction in the purity can be corrected at the initial stage on the reduction in the purity of the product hydrogen without stopping the operation.

SOLUTION: The four-column type pressure swing adsorption apparatus for hydrogen purification is connected to a hydrogen production apparatus comprising a steam reformer and a CO converter. The apparatus is provided with a control mechanism where, in the initial stage on reduction in the purity of product hydrogen in the process of its normal operation, correction is performed so as to quicken the cycle time of the pressure swing adsorption apparatus for recovering the purity of hydrogen while producing product hydrogen so as to continue the automatic load variation in the hydrogen production apparatus.
