PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect incomplete fitting of connectors. SOLUTION: A detection mechanism for detecting fitting status of a connector housing 11 and a mating connector housing 31 comprises cam parts 21, 22 of the connector housing 11, lock parts 41, 42 of the mating connector housing 31, and a detection member 51 for cooperating with these to detect fitting status. A shaft part 53 of the detection member 51 is slidably retained between the initial position and the fitting position by the cam parts 21, 22. The lock parts 41, 42 has abutment surfaces 41a, 42a, for moving the shaft part 53 from the fitting position to the initial position, and shaft receiving parts 41b, 42b for receiving the shaft part 53 and locking it.
