PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steel electric component having an excellent conductivity on its base material, capable of securing a conductivity approximately at the same level as the conductivity of the welded joint part, and securing the mechanical strength of the welded joint. SOLUTION: The steel electric component is structured so that a plating layer of single component of Ni or Cr not containing P substantially and having a thickness of 5-20μm is formed on the surface, and the metal structure of the parent material is made substantially a ferrite single phase structure.
