PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To specify a file which is on display from an external device. SOLUTION: A plurality of image files are stored in an image file folder 108 of a storage device 102 of a digital camera 10, and a desired file may be selected. When the digital camera 10 is operated in a reproduction mode, the selected image file is displayed at a display device 104, and the file construction in an image file folder 108 is changed so that the selected file can be obtained in accordance with a file name(DISP) preliminarily decided from the outside. That is, the copy of the selected image file is stored as a file with preliminarily decided designation(DISP). A printer 20 issues a READ command to designate the preliminarily decided file (DISP) name to the digital camera 10 to obtain the image file of an image which is on display at the display device 104.
