The section of a laser beam is shaped by a mask (5) having a through hole, and a laser beam passed through the through hole is condensed by a lens (6) and shone onto the surface of a work so as to form the image of the through hole of the mask on the surface of a work (12). A laser beam passed through the lens is manipulated so as to move the incident position of a laser beam on the surface of the work, and the through hole is kept imaged on the surface of the work even during laser beam scanning to thereby process the work, whereby it is possible to enable a quality laser processing with a good time efficiency.
