PURPOSE: A network management system is provided to operate both a Q3 NMS(Network Management Service) manager and a COBRA EMS(Element Management Service) server in an identical network management system by embodying a Q3 gateway to convert a COBRA interface and a Q3 interface mutually. CONSTITUTION: A network management system is comprised of a Q3 NMS manager(110), a Q3 gateway(120), an EMS client(130), a COBRA NMS manager(140), a COBRA EMS server(150), a COBRA gateway(160), and an NE(Network Element)(170). The Q3 NMS manager(110) manages a network, based on a Q3 interface. The Q3 gateway(120) converts a management operation service request message, received from the Q3 NMS manager(110) through a CMISE(Common Management Information Service Element) interface, into a COBRA interface type, and transfers it to the COBRA EMS server(150). The EMS client(130) manages the NEs existing in its own subnetwork range, based on a COBRA interface. The COBRA NMS manager(140) manages a network, based on the COBRA interface. The COBRA EMS server(150) provides identical information to different managers using an identical interface. The COBRA gateway(160) transfers the present information of the NE(170), received from the NE(170) through a UDP(User Datagram Protocol)/RRI(Real Resource Interface), to the COBRA EMS server(150).
