PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display and a thin film transistor substrate of the liquid crystal display are provided to improve side crosstalk, data line signal delay, luminance and aperture ratio. CONSTITUTION: A thin film transistor substrate includes an insulating substrate, a gate line(121) formed on the insulating substrate, a data line(171) formed on the insulating substrate to intersect the gate line, and reference electrodes(133a,133b) formed in pixel regions defined by the gate line and data line. The thin film transistor substrate further includes a pixel electrode(172) that is formed in each of the pixel regions and has a plurality of branches(174a,174b,174c) parallel with the reference electrodes, and a thin film transistor having three terminals respectively connected to the gate line, data line and pixel electrode. The reference electrodes and the branches of the pixel electrode are alternately arranged.
