PURPOSE: A digital camera for infrared ray communication and a method for transmitting photographs using the same are provided to transmits a digital image, photographed in an infrared ray communication method, to a mobile terminal by wireless. CONSTITUTION: A digital camera(20) for infrared ray communication comprises a user input part(21), a control part(22), a photographing part(23), a storage part(24), and an infrared ray transmission part(26). The user input part(21) is to input user commands related to image photographing and the transmission of photographed digital images. The control part(22) controls image photographing and the storage and transmission of photographed digital images according to user commands. The photographing part(23) photographs a captured image according to the control of the control part(22). The storage part(24), when an image photographed by the photographing part(23) is converted and transferred into digital image data by the control part(22), stores the digital image data. The infrared ray transmission part(26) converts control signals, related to digital images and photographing, transferred by the control part(22) into infrared ray transmitting data and transmits the converted data through an infrared ray communication port(25).
