PURPOSE: A method for making a household or an industrial polyurethane sponge block for use in polishing and washing is provided to improve the washing effect, and to perform the polishing of various surfaces with ease. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises the steps of: agitating a polyurethane foam composition for polishing and washing at 5000-6000 RPM to obtain a milky and creamy liquid; further agitating the composition for 80-90 seconds after then; and gelling the composition for 2-3 minutes. Particularly, the composition comprises 100 parts by weight of polyol, 2 parts by weight of catalyst, 50-65 parts by weight of diisocyanate, 3.5 parts by weight of water, 10 parts by weight of a foaming agent, 1,5-2 parts by weight of a dispersant, 6 parts by weight of zeolite and 150 parts by weight of silica and alumina powder.
