<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a more real conversation without a sense of incongruity with consideration to a portrait of a person carrying out the conversation by acquiring a physical appearance image of the person, extracting a description of the person by analyzing the acquired image, comparing and considering detailed personal information on a database with a description of the person acquired by using the extracted description and retrieving detailed information regarding each person from the database, and using it in translation by a translation means. <P>SOLUTION: The translation system is composed of a photographing means for photographing the person carrying out the conversation, an image analysis means for analyzing the photographed image, a database retrieval means for retrieving the personal information on the database on the basis of an image analysis result, the translation means for changing translation contents in response to the image analysis result and the retrieved personal information on the database, a display means for displaying the information to the person carrying out the conversation, and a speech input/output means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
