<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable reproduction with a device other than a recorder when such encryption is carried out that can be reproduced only with a specific device. <P>SOLUTION: A device having an information source previously prepared therein encrypts the information source using previously-prepared cipher key information, reads out public key information recorded in a medium, encrypts the cipher key information using the read public key information, and records the encrypted information source and the encrypted cipher key information in the medium having the public key information recorded therein. A device for outputting the information source records the public key information generated based on previously-prepared secret key information in a medium, encrypts the cipher key information encrypted using the recorded public key information and recorded in the medium, decrypts the read cipher key information using the secret key information, and decrypts the information recorded in the medium using the decrypted cipher key information. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
