<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system switching apparatus which can rapidly and easily cope to changes in the operating conditions. <P>SOLUTION: When a semiconductor-switching type is switched, a semiconductor switch 4A turned on while switches 12, 14 are turned off, switches 13, 15 are turned on, is turned off, and thereafter a semiconductor switch 4B is turned on. When a hybrid type is switched, the switch 4B is turned on from the state, in which a power is supplied to a load 6 via the switches 12, 13 and a breaker 5 from an AC power source 2A.
