OUTER LOOP TRANSMISSION POWER CONTROL METHOD AND RADIO COMMUNICATION APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To apply appropriate outer loop transmission power control to an HS-DPCCH (high speed-dedicated physical control channel) even at the time of DTX (discontinuous transmission) of an A-DPCH (associated-dedicated physical channel), in a radio communication system in which the A-DPCH is mixed with the HS-DPCCH. SOLUTION: A transmission data monitoring unit 12 monitors whether there is a bit sequence transmitted via the A-DPCH. A pseudo-data creating unit 14 produces a random sequence used for outer loop transmission power control of the HS-DPCCH, in a DTX section having no bit sequence. A coding unit 16 applies CRC (cyclic redundancy check) coding to the created random sequence. A transmission radio unit 22 transmits via the A-DPCH the random sequence subjected to the CRC coding.
