PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cosmetic useful for ameliorating swelling and provide a means for easily ameliorate swelling. SOLUTION: The massaging cosmetic for ameliorating swelling contains glycerol monomenthyl ether and/or Guinea pepper extract. The cosmetic is used preferably as the pretreatment for warming and cooling treatment. A preferable example of the warming and cooling treatment comprises the warming at 38-42°C for 30-120 sec and the cooling at 13-20°C for 30-120 sec and the repetition of the warming and cooling steps thrice or more.
