PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate drilling working of hard-to-cut materials or the like, which is difficult with a conventional drill cutting technique, to prevent a drill transverse swing phenomenon, and to vastly improve the cutting performance. SOLUTION: One groove 1 is engraved from a cutting blade 4 of a drill blade edge onto a flank 2. A drill engraved with the groove can be easily mechanically constructed even when a maker produces a drill and be performed easily by anybody. Since the groove can be engraved down to a very thin drill with a small diameter ofϕwithout damaging the strength and stiffness of the drill, the precision of holes and the durability are remarkably improved when the drill is applied to machining of minute holes in a mass production line. The drill is developed as a countermeasure against the hard-to-cut materials, but is applied to common steel members, nonferrous metal plastic workpieces or the like, and demonstrates the effects more than that on working of the hard-to-cut materials.
