OPTICAL SEMICONDUCTOR TO BE ACTIVATED BY IRRADIATING WITH VISIBLE LIGHT AND ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical semiconductor having an excellent photodegradable function by irradiating with visible light-containing light of natural light or that emitted from an artificial light source and to provide a method of manufacturing the optical semiconductor stably. SOLUTION: This optical semiconductor is manufactured by effectively doping sulfur or the like partially to titanium oxide so that the optical semiconductor contains a large quantity of sulfur or the like. As a result, the manufactured optical semiconductor exhibits the excellent photodegradable function by irradiating with the visible light-containing light of natural light or that emitted from the artificial light source.
