ADSORBENT AND EXTRACORPOREAL CIRCULATION COLUMN FILLED WITH THE ADSORBENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To highly efficiently and selectively adsorb PGE2 being an immunity suppressant directly from a body fluid and to safely and effectively performing extracorporeal circulation thereof for treating cancer. SOLUTION: The adsorbent is constituted by coupling amine residue to a water-insoluble carrier to adsorb prostaglandin -E2. The adsorbent is packed in the column to be used for the extracorporeal circulation treatment of a disease such as cancer. The extracorporeal circulation column is manufactured by filling a cylindrical column of a suitable size with cotton-like, cylindrically woven or felt-like adsorbents such that the free volume amounts to approximately≤200 mL.
