<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for coating an electric wire, capable of saving resources. <P>SOLUTION: This device 1 for coating an electric wire forms a coating layer on a part of the outer surface 3a of the electric wire 3. The coating layer is made of a synthetic resin. The device 1 for coating the electric wire is provided with a jetting unit 32. The jetting unit 32 jets coating liquid toward the outer surface 3a of the electric wire 3 delivered by a pair of belt feeding units 13 by a fixed amount.
