PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a blow-preventive snow fence which does not cause accumulation or whirl of snow on a road when accumulation of snow on the windward of the snow fence is high or low, protects the road from traffic hindrance, and can be set on a shoulder. SOLUTION: The snow fence is formed of three portions, i.e. a vertical portion which vertically raises a snow-protective plate, a spike portion which is formed by extending the snow-protective plate from an upper end of the vertical portion in a windward inclining manner, and a leading portion which is formed by extending the snow-protective plate from an upper end of the spike portion in a leeward inclining manner. The snow-protective plate corresponding to the spike portion and the leading portion have holes formed therein over the entire area. Each hole has a diameter of several centimeters, and the ratio of the opening area is in the range of 20 to 40 % of the total area of the spike portion and the leading portion. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
