PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel control system capable of preventing the leak of fuel into a combustion chamber after stopping the operation of an internal combustion engine. SOLUTION: This fuel control system for a common rail-type internal combustion engine using a low boiling point fuel comprises a supplying passage 25 for supplying the fuel to a common rail 7, an inlet-side shut-off valve 20 provided in the supplying passage 25, a fuel injection valve 6 connected to the common rail 7 to inject the fuel into the cylinder of the internal combustion engine E, and a control means 12 for controlling the inlet-side shut-off valve 20 and the fuel injection valve 6. The control means 12 closes the inlet-side shut-off valve 20 when the internal engine E is stopped, and stops the control of the fuel injection valve 6 after the lapse of a prescribed delay period from this valve closing.
