PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid detergent composition showing good foaming, sufficient wet feeling and also suppression of powder formation even on preserving at a low temperature for a long time. SOLUTION: This solid detergent composition is characterized by containing (a) an N-methyltaurine alkali salt of a fatty acid of formula (I)(wherein; R is a 7-23C alkyl or a 7-23C alkenyl; and X is an alkali metal, an alkaline earth metal or an organic alkali) and (b) a nonionic surfactant of a polyoxyethylene-polyoxypropylene block copolymer and/or a fatty acid polyoxyethylene glyceryl.
