PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safety means for a construction machine which reports abnormality when a hydraulic motor does not stop even if the stop conditions of the hydraulic motor are satisfied. SOLUTION: This means determines a condition 1 that output from a limit switch 81 exists, namely, a condition that a pilot operation device 34 is operated to a winding up direction, and a condition 2 that a signal indicating a winding up condition is input from the limit switch 18, respectively. When the two conditions are simultaneously satisfied and the means determines that rotary pulse signal from a rotary sensor 75 exists, a warning is output by an alarm 73 and a note of a failure of a solenoid valve 35 and an instruction of returning an operation lever to a neutral position are indicated on an indicator 72.
