Conventionally, it has been impossible to carry out standardized printing precisely adapted to the functions of various types of printers. Standardized printing data and printer performance data are stored. When a printing command is issued, standardized printing candidates are presented according to the standardized printing data. If a standardized printing is selected from the candidates, a combination of printing conditions for carrying out the standardized printing is set referring to the printer performance data, and the printing is carried out. Since the printer performance data on each type of printer is stored, adequate printing conditions can be set for each type of printer to carry out a standardized printing. As a result, a standardized printing precisely corresponding to the performance of the printer can be carried out.
