The intake device has an intake piston (6) defining a pressure chamber (8) for hydraulic medium on one end face (7), while the other end face (9) projects rod-like from the housing (4). A play compensation element (10) is connected to the projecting part (13) via its pressure piston (12). At least one supply path (14) for hydraulic fluid to the compensation element passes through the piston. The piston has a sleeve-like part (14a) axially in front of the projecting part, for its direct guidance via its outer jacket (15), in the housing bore (5).
