An electric switch (4) switches a supply voltage on and off for an electric motor (3). Electronic devices can be fitted in an electric tool (1) to control supply voltage fed to the motor. Devices in the tool also switch on a brake circuit for short-circuit braking of the motor as supply voltage is switched off. An electric resistor in the brake circuit has an electric resistance wire (7) that fits in the electric tool in a long side that corresponds to the amount of resistance.
