PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recycling system capable of efficiently and quickly carrying out recycling treatment and maintaining the quality of recycling materials and reusable articles, and a recycling method.

SOLUTION: A computer 305 of a production/recycling company 301 records the recycling information 202 (the unit number 211, the production information 212, the recycling history 213, the recycling object 214, and the recycling condition 215) in the memory part 102 of a coloring material unit 101 and a printer 306 of a store 302 records the use environment history 203 (the temperature history 216, moisture history 217 and the like) in the memory part 102 of the coloring material unit 101 and the computer 310 in a recovery/classification company 303 reads out the recorded coloring material unit information 201 (the recycling information 202 and use environment history 203) stored in the memory part 102 of the used coloring material unit 101 and determines the treatment method of the coloring material unit 101.
