<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a plurality of types of terminal equipment to utilize data when providing data in the terminal equipment of a user stored on a network for use by the user or other users. <P>SOLUTION: The data storage system comprises an integral connection interface 12 for connecting a user terminal machine 1 and a data storage section 11 of a service provider via a computer network NT without depending on the type of the user terminal machine 1; and a data format conversion computer 15 for performing the conversion processing of the data format in a data file stored at a file server 14. When a user utilizes a data file stored at the system by a user terminal machine 1b that differs from the type of a user terminal machine 1a that is used when the user stores the data file, a data format conversion computer 15 converts the data file to a format suited for the type of the user terminal machine 1b according to the utilization request, and transfers the data after the conversion to the user terminal machine 1b. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
