PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cordless telephone device enabling even a slave unit side not loaded with a highly functional sound source to use a ringtone melody and a holding melody. SOLUTION: The cordless telephone device 1 is constituted of: a master unit 2 having a radio communication part 5 for transmitting and receiving voice signals through a line and for bidirectionally performing radio communication with a slave unit 3 and the highly functional sound source 14 for making ringtone and holding sound highly functional; and the slave unit 3 having a radio communication part 16 for bidirectionally performing the radio communication with the master unit 2. The master unit 2 provided with the highly functional sound source 14 generates the ringtone and the holding sound to be used in the slave unit 3 according to a communication protocol between the master unit 2 and the slave unit 3, and transfers them to the slave unit, then, the ringtone melody and the holding melody generated by the highly function sound source 14 of the master unit 2 are utilized even on the side of the slave unit 3.
