PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of efficiently sterilizing and clarifying water with a simple apparatus. SOLUTION: A water to be treated is irradiated with short and medium wavelength UV rays including a UV ray of 185nm wavelength and a UV ray of 254nm wavelength in the presence of photocatalysts containing titanium oxide particles.
