The invention relates to an overload safety device for a dosing mechanism of a product dispensing appliance for a liquid product, said appliance comprising: a) a housing (1a, 1b) provided with a reservoir (R) for the product, b) a transport device (K, 2) which acts on the product contained in the reservoir (R) and delivers a determined product dose from the reservoir (R) on actuation, and d) a dosing mechanism that comprises: c1) a dosing button (3; 30) which carries out a dosing movement in relation to the housing (1a, 1b) in order to determine the product dose, and c2) a transmission element (5; 50) which is engaged with the dosing button (3; 30) in such a way that the dosing button (3; 30) drives the transmission element (5; 50) during the dosing movement, and which is connected to the transport device (K, 2) in such a way that the product dose is determined when the transport device (K, 2) is actuated, by the position occupied by the transmission element (5; 50) in relation to the transport device (K, 2). According to the invention, when engaged, the dosing button (3; 30) and the transmission element (5; 50) form a slip coupling (4a, 6a; 32, 52) which acts between the dosing button (3; 30) and the transmission element (5; 50) as an overload safety device which uncouples the dosing button (3; 30) from the transmission element (5; 50) when a pre-determined limiting force is achieved which acts in a direction of the dosing movement between the dosing button (3; 30) and the transmission element (5; 50). |
