The two-layer wallpaper (5) has a base layer (1) which is durably bonded to the decorative covering layer (4) with a structured surface (2), where they cannot be separated. The two layers are offset and positioned to give a projecting base layer at the right side and a retracted base layer at the left side. When the wallpaper is laid, adjacent lengths lie together along their sides in a positive fit (3).
