A papermaking machine has a drum with a slip bearing held against the drum inner surface by hydraulic pressure. The bearing has an interface frame whose leading edge (9) meets oncoming hydraulic fluid (R). The leading edge (9) has outer margin extensions (10, 11) which esp. are much shorter in the direction of fluid impact (R) than the slip bearing element (5a).
