A level sensor, which is hardly affected by the sulfidization in a fuel with some sulfur content or by a protective layer in a fuel with little sulfur content. The level sensor (1) comprises a circuit substrate (2) provided with a plurality of fixed electrodes (3), which are connected to a resistor (4), and a sliding contact (5), which slides on the fixed electrodes (3) in accordance with a liquid level change. When the sliding contact (5) comes into contact with one of the fixed electrodes (5), the lavel sensor (1) outputs the resistance value of a resistor (4) that corresponds to the fixed electrode (3). Each of the plurality of fixed electrodes (3) has a first sliding portion (8a) provided with a protective layer (7) and a second sliding portion (8b) which is not provided with such a protective layer (7). A slider (6) is provided with a first sliding contact (5a) coming into contact with the first sliding portion (8a) and a second sliding contact (5b) coming into contact with the second sliding portion (8b).
