<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flame-retardant resin composition for a sheath of a resin-coated metal pipe for use in gas piping, etc., that has good high-temperature oil resistance, flame retardancy and flexibility, does not emit poisonous gases at incineration, and has abrasion resistance, easy-cutting properties and easy drawability. <P>SOLUTION: The outer surface of a metal pipe 1 such as a flexible metal pipe composed of a stainless steel corrugated pipe is coated with a sheath 2. This sheath 2 is composed of a flame retardant resin composition obtained by blending 100 pts.wt. of a base polymer comprising 90-97 pts.wt. of an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer and/or an ethylene-ethyl acrylate copolymer, and 3-10 pts.wt. of a polypropylene-type polymer, with 20-100 pts.wt. of magnesium hydroxide or 40-100 pts.wt. of calcium carbonate, wherein the hardness is 30-50 in the durometer D value. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
