PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep a stable dust collecting performance in a vacuum cleaner for all times. SOLUTION: There are provided: a main body 13 including a suction blower 11; a suction port 16 communicating with a suction part of the blower 11; a dust collecting chamber 18 arranged in a suction path ranging from the suction port 16 to the blower 11 so as to collect dust; a filter 17 installed in the dust collecting chamber 18 to filter dust in the air sucked into the dust collecting chamber 18; a dust removing means 21 for removing dust adhered to the filter 17 from the filter 17; and a dust amount detecting means for detecting an amount of dust covering the filter 17. The dust removing means 21 is operated under a specified timing. With this arrangement, it is possible to provide an vacuum cleaner keeping a stable dust ollecting performance. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
