PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drinking water supply method with monitoring by aquatic organisms, and system therefor. SOLUTION: In the drinking water supply method with monitoring hazardous substances and system therefor, the treatment or water supply route from raw water to drinking water has a bioassay system by the aquatic organisms used for monitoring and judging the hazardous substances such as acute poisons. When the system judges the monitored result acceptable, only treated water is preferentially supplied, or clean water which can be used together with the treated water is supplied to together with the treated water. When the system judges the monitored result not acceptable, only the clean water is automatically and independently supplied. The method and the system are characterized in that, in order to effectively operate the system, only safe water is selectively transferred through a safety confirming storage tanks which are installed in water receiving passages and/or treated water passages excluding passages for the clean water such as city water and respond to an emergency.
