PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catheter which is improved for setting a blood vessel blocking coil at a prescribed position in the blood vessel. SOLUTION: This catheter includes a blood vessel blocking wire 128 with a base end and a tip end and a thread 130. The blood vessel blocking wire 128 can be inserted into blood vessel from a catheter 124 consisting of a flexible tube, and is stretchable from a helical state to a stretched linear condition for moving forward and rearward in the catheter. The thread 130 is constituted so that the blood vessel blocking wire 128 moves backward in the catheter and the movement of a pusher 126 is not influenced by the stretching of the blood vessel blocking wire 128 when the pusher 126 attached to the blood vessel blocking wire is moved by pulling the pusher 126 in its base end direction in the catheter. The thread 130 is joined with and extended between the base end and the tip end of the blood vessel blocking wire 128 to join both ends. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
