PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To positively and effectively make use of many "lower grade" pearls kept in pearl processors' warehouses in dead storage. SOLUTION: A synthetic-resin paint containing at least a pigment and an acrylic resin is applied onto the surface of a pearl. A mixture of a base resin, which is composed of the synthetic resin paint containing at least a pigment and an acrylic resin, a thinner and a hardener, is applied to the surface of the pearl as much as necessary, respectively. The mixture ratio of the base resin to the hardener is about 4:1 for the colorized pearl. The component and content of the base resin for the colorized pearl is about 35% of pigment, about 44.5% of acrylic resin, about 10% of alcohols, about 10% of aromatic solvent and about 0.5% of additive.
