PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a game machine capable of simplifying the replacing work of a game board for changing the model of the game machine from a model with a functioning operation part (such as a stop button) to a model without the operation part, or vice versa. SOLUTION: A variable display game for variably displaying multiple kinds of discrimination patterns in a display area of a display device is controlled based on the establishment of a starting condition, and a special display mode is displayed as the result of display of the variable display game if a jackpot is made. In the game machine, a special game state for granting special game values to a player may occur if a jackpot is made. The game machine has the operation part on a front frame for performing necessary operation related to the variable display game, and either the game board with an operation detecting part for detecting whether the operation part is operated or not, or the game board without the operation detecting part, can be attached to the front frame.
