PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medal dispenser having a structure of transferring a medal from the medal dispenser to a game machine without direct touch of a game player, which has low probability of obstructing a game player and high durability. SOLUTION: This medal dispenser includes: a slide mechanism for sliding a box-like member 60 having a storing part 65 for storing medals from a storing position to a projecting position to an enclosure by the drive of a motor 81; a side transport mechanism 71 having a rotary driving part 73 for rotating the storing part 65 around a shaft as an axis of rotation to transport the medal in the storing part 65 through a side opening part 66 of the box-shaped member 60; and a control part for controlling a medal supply part to supply a medal to the storing part 65 while the box-like member 60 is in the storing position, and controlling to first return the storing part 65 to the initial position when the input is given to a button switch 68 after the completion of transporting the medal by the side transport mechanism 71, and subsequently return the box-shaped member 60 to the storing position.
