A liquid crystal display device with a pair of substrates with liquid crystal layer therebetween, at least a first conductive layer formed on one of said pair of substrates, at least a first insulating layer formed on the first conductive layer, a plurality of drain signal lines formed on the first insulating layer with overlapping relation to the first conductive layer, at least a second insulating layer formed on the drain signal line, at least a second conductive layer formed on the second insulating layer and elongated substantially along the drain signal line with overlapping relation to the drain signal line, wherein the second conductive layer is stand off from the overlapping region of the first conductive layer and the drain signal line.
