Optical filter used for variable power transmission, or as demodulator, assembles resonator component from two partial resonators coupled by optical fibers

To achieve various power transmission functions, the resonator component (RE) is assembled from two part-resonators. These are coupled by optical fibers via the longitudinal and transverse paths of the 2 x 2 resonator coupler (RK1, RK2), forming a ring resonator (RR) and a mirror resonator (SR). Fundamental resonator lengths are in a simple whole number ratio L. The power coupling factors k1,2R of the 2x2 resonator are matched for the selected ratio L.
