The flexible cord (2, 4) is hooked and fixed at anchor points on the side away from the loading opening (6) and is connected vertically upwards to a lift device (1) which is driven with a resetting force manually, electrically, hydraulically or through spring loading so that in the rest position the cord (4) runs horizontal along the upper region of the loading space to an opposite lift device where the cord is connected. The free end (5) of the cord hangs vertically down directly from the connection facing the loading opening for easy handling. The loading space of the vehicle need not have fixed side walls.
