PURPOSE: An X-ray shielded imaging detector, an X-ray imaging system, and operation method thereof are provided to secure a simple and efficient X-ray detector and X-ray system. CONSTITUTION: An x-ray shielded imaging detector(200) comprises a scintillator; a photodetector; an optical connection between the scintillator and the photodetector; and a first high-density shielding material adjacent to the optical connection. The x-ray shielded imaging detector further comprises a second high-density shielding material over a portion of the first high density shielding material. The optical connection further comprises plural individual optical fibers, and each optical fiber has a high aspect ratio.
