<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a strength enough to withstand the holding and the suturing during transplantation and an efficient three-dimensional breeding of cells by facilitating the internal insertion of the nerves and the blood vessels along with a higher degradation/absorption capacity in vivo. <P>SOLUTION: In the biodegradable cylindrical body, as a multilayer-structured cylindrical body, a biodegradable filament-like material is wound on a rotary cylindrical mold in multiple layers so that each layer is formed with a coil of the biodegradable filament-like material while the material is wound up so as to differentiate the winding density of the filament-like material per layer. After a molding treatment, the mold is pulled off to produce it. As a result, the cylindrical body even with a finer diameter will not split or break in the protection or suturing during the operation of the transplantation in vivo. This will not cause adverse effect on the rate of regeneration and the biodegradability of biological tissues or organs, and moreover, can improve the strength thereof exceedingly. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
