MULTI-COLORING THERMAL PRINTER, MULTI-COLORING METHOD AND MULTI-COLORING SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide multi-coloring recording in which recording operation can be carried out at low cost while shortening the recording operation time as much as possible.

SOLUTION: Three colors are developed simultaneously according to a line of three color developing pixel data using a line thermal head 18 for a thermal recording medium developing magenta at a low temperature, cyan at an intermediate temperature and black at a high temperature. A line of first two color developing bit data for developing magenta and black and a line of second two color developing bit data for developing cyan and black are generated based on a line of three color developing pixel data. During a period required for the recording operation of each line by the line thermal head, the line thermal head performs recording operation based on a line of first two color developing bit data and then based on a line of second two color developing bit data.
